Aidan Beanland – Regional SEO Manager – Yahoo!7
In his capacity as Regional SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) Manager at Yahoo!7 Aidan directs SEO operations for Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Korea and advises on international strategy. While 11 years of Search Engine Optimisation, paid search and online marketing experience should be enough for anyone, Aidan maintains an almost unhealthy obsession that’s well suited to his role.
Before joining Yahoo! in 2005, Aidan managed SEO, Paid Inclusion and Paid Placement clients at Decide Interactive in Sydney, helping launch their US operations before the company was acquired by 24/7 Real Media. After a year in Silicon Valley (assisting clients such as CNET, Dell, Sears and Wal-Mart exceed their ROI targets) he returned to Australia to start a family and surf in warmer waters.
Before immigrating to Sydney from the UK in 2001, Aidan’s career included traditional marketing and online publishing roles, as well as some less conventional jobs such as cycle courier, jet-ski instructor and traditional West Country cider farmer. He holds a Bachelor Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Westminster and a high regard for anyone who can retain their sanity in LAX airport.
